Palo Verde Ranch is one of a few equestrian residential developments in San Diego County that allows homeowners to keep horses on site. The "Ranch" consists of 233 parcels, ranging from 2 to 8 acres, and is situated near the town of Alpine in east San Diego County. It is adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest at an elevation of 1800 feet. Downtown San Diego is a mere 35 minutes away.
The Ranch has many amenities. Near the entrance one finds Viejas Lake commonly known as the "Small Lake" with a pavilion, a tennis court and a riding ring. in addition to the riding ring there are miles and miles of riding trails throughout the ranch that connect to the Cleveland National Forest.
The majority of amenities of the ranch can be found in members only complex that contains Palo Verde Lake commonly known as the "Big Lake". This area contains its own pavilion, Clubhouse and a variety of recreational activities. The Big Lake is a 65 acre lake with a sandy beach and diving platforms. Residents can swim, fish, sail, kayak and use their electric motor boats in the big lake. Adjacent to the big lake is a large covered pavilion with tables, BBQs, a sand volleyball court, horseshoes, jungle gym and the clubhouse. The clubhouse has an attractive main room with fireplace, dance floor, pool table, views of the big lake, saunas, gym, full kitchen and a wet bar. Adjacent to the clubhouse is the dock where Palo Verde home owners can dock their boats.
The ranch has many activities throughout the year for its residents. Some of the bigger activities are the annual Bass Tournament and July 4th festivities.
Home sites on the Ranch can accommodate horses and many have barns, corrals and riding rings. Residents have access to the Ranch riding trails which have access to the Cleveland National Forest. There is no need on the Ranch to trailer your horse in order to find a place to ride!
